Clint Barnes, who has been spend ing the spring months up at Durango came in Monday. Miss Anna Michel left on Morthy, for Durango where she will be em ployed at the Savoy hotel. J. C. Lindsley of Lawton, Okla., came in this week to look over the general prospects of this section as a field for investments. H. W. Raymer and A. H. Taylor of Sterling, Colo., came in this week with a view of locating if pleased with the prospects. Ruth Irvin, who resides on the Peninsula, Sunday jumped from a moving car and suffered a fall that fractured a shoulder bone, making a very painful injury. While fairly good prices are being offered for wool here practically none has been sold and but a small part of the clip of the county has either been contracted or sold. Guy Herbert who has just complet ed a large garage and filling station was down from his home at Aztec Monday. His building is a decided improvement to the county seat town and a credit to the county. Mrs. L. H. Boardman and little son came over from Gallup last week for a visit with her father, Enos Depew, W. W. Moore-brother, her sister and Mrs. Phelps over. in an auto. Harry Piesen has sold out his in terest in the firm of Johnson, Bald win and Co., to J. M. Johnson and Harry Baldwin, the remaining mem bers of the firm, and will seek a bus ines location at Albuquerque. This office recently was presented with a most beautiful bouquet of wild flowers gathered in this vicinity, for which we extend our grateful thanks. The hills are covered with lovely flow ers this year due to the moisture we have had. Ed Powell and mother, H. L. An drews, John Heald, and B. E. Warn er left for Los Angeles Tuesday morning going by auto. Mrs. Powell and Mr. Andrews expect to remain there for the summer but Ed will re turn a little later. The walls on the commodious mov ing picture theater that Frank Allen is constructing are rapidly going up and Mr. Allen is pushing the work with all possible speed. When this is completed Farmington will have the finest moving picture theater in the state. The Stevenson family consisting of father, mother, one daughter, and two sons arrived Sunday from Denver hav ing driven by auto here coming by way of Raton, Albuquerque, and Cuba. The older brother is a pharmacist of experience and this trip was his first outing in two years from his drug work. Jim, John and Jess Jacobs arrived in town yesterday after spending a week in looking over these oil fields and at once rented houses and stated they were here to stay, saying they could see things in this field that we who were here did not see. They came from the Oklahoma oil fields and will go into business here.
