One Building Destroyed and Three Others Damaged on the Courthouse Square, St. Louis, June 1.—Fire which start ed from a gasoline explosion at the rear of the butcher shops of ° °. W. Sweigert at Clayton, St. Louis county, destroyed the Schweigart Building, a three-story frame structure, and dam aged the building owned by James Jones, adjoining Schweigert’s on the north, the Colonial building, a new $30,000 structure, and the building occupied by the St. Louis County Press. The arrival of two fire engines from St. Louis. In response to a tele phone call, probably saved the court house, as Clayton has only hand fire fighting apparatus. Neighbors saved the most of Schweigert’s belongings.
