104—80—4teamirdayholdInstThe attendance at the game between Congo and Logan at Riverside Park IiihI Thursday was not all tlint could be desired in point of numbers. Perhaps, however, those who stayed nwny were fortunate without knowing it. It is oertuin that there was not a spectator there who was not disappointed, not only nt the score, but by the poor quality of the gnme as n whole. Congo is said to have a remarkably fnst team, which is doubtless true; but they did not average up well in their piny that day. And Logan was simply '•punk.Bennett, the Congo pitcher, is n good twirier; but he wub hit all over the field; Stiers too is n good pitcher; but Congo placed him promiscuously ; he had poorer support than did Bennett, though that item was notning to brag about on either side. The pivotal fact in the whole game was simply that the Logan players made their errors where they counted henyily against them, while their opponents were either more fortunate in that respect, or else retrieved their raisplnys by better ones. A look ut the score below will be sufficient to show how much superior the visitors were in their play.Canty retired in the first half of the fifth, Dill going from right field to catch ; and Williams played the rest of the game in right.
