Constable Jacob Stewart and his hosts, of Beavercreek township, swooped down on a party of fellows who were engaged last night in sein ing in Little Beaver creek, near Shoups. The alleged violators of the law came over from Dayton on the Dayton Xenia traction line, and, being seen with their seise, a tip was given Constable Stewart of the arrival of the party. George Lantz, Harry Ferguson, Frank Hel mer, George Schantz and Lewis Stewart accompanied Constable Stewart to the fighting ground, where the Dayton crowd was caught in the midst of their work. They put up a game fight against their ar rest and it took some vigorous hand ling of the maces by the constable and his deputies before the crowd was subdued and the handcuffs pisced upon them. They were put on board a traction car and brought to this city, where they spent the night at the police station. ‘The men gave their names as John Grulick, Henry Yause and Albert Bohrer. Two boys, Joan Grulick, Jr., 12, and Clarence Grulick, 13, who were with the men, were locked up for safe keeping and were afterward set free. In coming in on the car one of the crowd, Henry Yause, got loud and abusive in his talk and before he could be subdued there was another little set-to between him and Officer Stewart. Along with the prisoners was brought about a bushel of fine fish. The prisoners were arraigned before the Mayor and their trial set for Monday afternoon. They were committed to jail until that time in default of bond of $200 each. Dance, Lucas Grove, Saturday night.
