Nineteen-year-old Julie Rose of Delphi was crowned Miss Carroll County at the 28th annual 4-H queen contest Sunday night. Her sister, Susie Rose, 21, of Flora was second runner-up. They are the daughters of Becky Rose of Monon and Bill Rose of Florida. Julie was sponsored by Dave’s IGA, Delphi. She is a 1984 graduate of a Florida high school. As queen she received the follow ing prizes: trophy - Reinke Funeral Home; tiara - The Specialty Shop; flowers - The Flower Shoppe; savings bond Beckner Law Office, Delphi, Limestone and Union Bank Trust Co.; diamond pendant Sisson Son Jewelers; 10 gallons of gas - Anderson Standard; sav ings account - O’bear, Overholser, Smith Huffer; piz ‘za - Pizzeria; pig skin banner Carroll County Pork Producers; savings bond - Scott Scales, Prudential Insurance; basket for gifts - Logansport Basket Shop. First runner-up was Suzi Bartlow, 18, daughter of Margaret Bartlow and Dirk Bartlow of Delphi. She was spon sored by Sullivan Funeral Home, Camden. Suzi was graduated from Delphi Community High School in May and was valedic torian of her class. Her prizes in cluded: trophy - Adams Standard Station; Kiara Payne’s Phar macy; flowers - The Flower Shoppe; gift certificate - J-Ann Shop; gift certificate - J W Fashion Centre; 10 gallons of gas Allen Auto Truck Service; savings bond - Bright National Bank; savings bond - Delphi Limestone, Inc.; necklace - C J Card Shop; dinner for two JoAnn’s Restaurant; pig skin banner Carroll County ‘Pork Producers; basket for gifts Logansport Basket Shop. Second runner-up Susie Rose was sponsored by Stephan’s IGA, Flora. She is a 1982 graduate of Carroll High School. Prizes for second runner-up included: trophy - Ayres Hardware; tiara Delta Theta Chi; flowers - The Flower Shoppe; /savings band Delphi Limestone, Inc.; curling iron - Cut Curl p; hair cut Fashion Coiffeurs;shampoo and creme - Jan’s Hair Care; flower arrangement - Kary Kraft Korner; pig skin banner - Carroll County Pork Producers; basket for gifts - Logansport Basket Shop. Lori Carroll, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Carroll of Delphi, was third runner-up. She is a 1985 graduate of Delphi High School. Her sponsor was Union Bank Trust Co., Delphi. Lori is a 1985 graduate of Delphi Com munity High School. As third runner-up she received: trophy Stephan’s IGA; tiara - Carroll County Comet; flowers - The Flower Shoppe; savings band Delphi Limestone, Inc.; styling iron - Sue Hammond Beauty Salon; haircut - Center Stage Hair Design; shampoo - Fashion Coiffeurs; dinner for two - Keen’s Inn; pig skin banner - Carroll County Pork Producers. Miss Congeniality was Stephanie Myer, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Myer of Br inghurst. Sponsored by The Stout Agency, she is a senior at Carroll High School. Her prizes included: trophy - First Bank of Carroll County; tiara - The Stout Agency; flowers - The Flower Shoppe; sav ings bond - Camden State Bank; gift certificate - Roth’s Sundae Castle; gift certificate - Merle Norman; savings bond - Delphi Limestone, Inc.; necklace Allbaugh’s Bridal Center; pig skin banner - Carroll County Pork Producers; basket for gifts - Logansport Basket Shop. Judges for the 1985 contest were Shea Kohne, Joe Allen, and Annie Ross, 1985 Purdue Grand Prix queen. Emcees were Linda Leazenby Scagnoli, former Miss Carroll County, and Captain Stubby. Organist was Joyce Hughes. Jeff Bordner and Paul Dunbar served as escorts. Entertainment was provided by break dancers, the Savage Six. They are Joe Disinger, Chuck Marchand, John Simmerman, Dennis Grandstaff and Chris Garth.
