Baldwin is Strongly Endorsed for State RepresentativeJS CANDIDATE FROM 122ND REPRESENTATIVE tilSTRICT TO SUC-CEED HON. W. H. BLEDSOE, RESIGNED.SPECIAL ELECTION CALLED FOR AUGUST 30, 1919.Governor Hobby lias issued a proclamation calling a special election in this, the 122nd Representative District of Texas for August 30, 1919, to-elect a Representative to the Legislature in the place of Hon. W. H. Bledsoe, who resigned tlial office to become State Senator.Honorable R. A. Baldwin of Slaton, is a candidate for the office of State Representative to succeed Judge Bledsoe. This is the first time Mr. Baldwin has ever been a candidate for any office, and that he will be elected by an overwhelming majority seems probable from the favorable reception the announcement of his candidacy has received from the beginning. Mr. Baldwin has resided in Lubbock County more than eight year* pastf he is a lawyer of exceptional ability, aggressive, conservative and liberal minded. He possesses those qualities of fidelity to public duty, conscientiousness and intellect so requisite in one who holds this important office. To the people of Slaton and Lubbock County his ability, patriotism and Americanism are too well known to need any comment. Mr. Baldwin has the courage of his convictions, and will, If elected, make this District a good representative. Perhaps no candidate for a state office ever received a stronger or more nearly unanimous endorsement from his home people than that accorded Mr. Baldwin.. No better recommendation could be desired. It shows that Lubbock County unhesitatingly commends him to the citizenship of the 122nd District as the proper person to be our next Representative.Lubbock County EndorsementA. L.
