UMth'x llollKVMr. John Wesley Howard of East Clayton street died yesterday afternoon at twenty minutes to two, from consumption, after an illness of about six months. The deceased was born a slave in Bristol county, Tenn,, thirty-eight yean ago, and came to this county m 1871. He was a member of the A. M. E. church and was well known among the citizens of Decatur as a sober and honest man. His wife, Mrs. Margaret Howard, and 2-year-old daughter, Lilly, survive him.The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 3 o’clock ut the A. M. E. church, with the Rev. C. H. Sheen officiating.
