On Tuesday of last week we paid a short visit to the Mineral Springs, situate at Hu guenot, in the town of Deerpark, on the lands of Col. Peter Cuddeback. Some two years since we published something in regard to them from our Port Jervis cotemporary, about the time of their discovery; but since then very little has been saidvor thought of them by the public. We were informed by the proprietor that before he took steps in the way of improvement, he had the Water bottled and sent to New York city, and sub jected to a chemical analysis by the best chemists of the city, and that the analysis owed satisfactory to the highest degree. r Chilton pronounced them * all that could be desired ; and Dr. Newmaster says of it, “As adhalybeate water, I am certain it can not be surpassed. Any person that requires iron, for example, in cases of salt-rheum, erysipelas, cutaneous diseases, marasmus, general weakness or debility, depending upon an impoverished condition of the blood, I am of the opinion that this water cannot be sur passed to medicinal virtue.” Encouraged by these high testimonials, the Colonel has laid out the grounds about the springs in a very tasty manner, well cal culated in a few years to make them inviting to the public. He has also erected an exten sive house, 45x80, four stories high besides basement, for the accommodation of Visitors. The building is nearly completed, and pre sents a fine appearance. — ‘The scenery from the third and fourth stories is the finest that the mind can picture, and we shall be disap pointed if in a few years it does not take a front rank Among the rural Watering places of our country —Goshen Rep. * Confesseo au Last.—That Herrick Allen’s Gold Medal Laleratus is the best article known for making nice bight Bread, Bircuit, Pies, Pud dings, c. Baseless imitators are trying to palm off to the public their article, saying it is Gold Medal, or as good ; therefore, all who would pre serve their stomachs and health, look and see that the name of Herrick Allen is on the wrapper, and be not put off with the spurious because the Mer chant tells you that is as good. Mave nothing but the genuine Gold Medal. Dyspeptics can use it, and it will do them good. ‘Try it. We understand that Mr. Van Wyck has been commissioned as Colonel of the Tenth Legion. — Goshen Rep.
