11 more arrested at Boston beachBOSTON (UP!) - Eleven more persons have been arrested in racial incidents at SouthBoston's Carson Beach, bringingthe total to 25 in two days.Fridav blacks and whites exchanged racial slurs for a second straight day, police said“There was some pushing and shoving, nothing serious, a Metropolitan District Police spokesman said.He said the 11 whites, “mostly kids and women, were charged with failing to obey police orders to disperse and were later released pending arraignment.The spokesman said there were about 200 persons at the beach when the trouble began.“Some blacks came down tothe beach, thee were some racial slurs. The police came and ordered the crowd to disperse andthat was it, the spokesman said.The disturbance was the tourth minor clash between blacks and whites in just over a week at the beach, which lies between heavily white South Boston and the predominantly black Columbia Point housing project.South Boston has been the center of opposition to a three-year-old court-ordered school desegregation plan.Fourteen white youths were arrested Thursday after a group of whites began shouting racial slurs at about 50 blacks, police said.
