Shortly after, heavy detonations shook houses and rattled even the crockery on shelves. It has been described as look-allke a bluish steel-coloured with a long tall of redflame.Professor of Geology at Adelaide University (Sir Douglas Mawson) said on Wednesday that if a 100-ton meteorite landed within 10 miles of Adelaide. it would wreck every building in the metropolitan area and kill every inhabitant, and that no atomic bomb yet known would cause comparabledamage.
