Peterson and Partner Strike Gold After Much Prospecting. MEW WAREHOUSE BUILDINGMissionaries Build Big Dormitory for the Indian School.Sam Peterson anil partner, who have been prospectinng the last two ears on the Xenana river and Sts tributaries, have at last struck the pay on a tributary about eighty tniles from the mouth of the river.The partners have open-cut their ground and have started development work. Considerable more will be done when the supply of summer provisions is placed on the ground. There are about twenty men altogether in the country, anti much interest Is being taken in the new find.Several new creeks have been recently staked and more prospectingwill be carried on this winter.James Duke and Louis Johnson, the Nenanu traders, are erecting a large warehouse and saloon building. The boys are expecting to do a big business in the future,The new Episcopal church at the mouth of the Xenana is rapidly nearing completion. The building is being built with a dormitory for the natives. There are more Indians at that place than anywhere in the Tatiana. The Rev. Retticher of Fairbanks is the missionary in charge of the missions on the river.Several men have come down the river en route from the Susltna country during the last month. They report the river very dangerous to navigate even in a small boat. For several miles there is nothing but a series of rapids and canyons, where a boat is liable to tie knocked to pieces at any time.
