Swtyie Restates His Evidence. As part of the history of the Turner Imbroglio we copy the following from the American Union, Swayze’s p»pe% of yesterday:Tubkeb’s Cokfession.—Owing to the fact that portions of my testimony on the occasion of the Turner investigation last Friday, was incorrectly reported, and that some of it was objected to by the defendant's counsel, and that it was taken a few words at a time, and therefore disjointed, and in some instances contradictory, I propose now to make an independent statement covering all the facts irrespective of objections by counsel. This I deem all the more a duty to myself from the fact that my testimony, as it stands, is impeached.Henry M. Turner came into my office on Sunday, the 4th day of July, about 3 o’clock in the afternoon, and after carefully closing the door, without saying a word to me, he came toward me and sat down on the corner of my editorial table. He looked strangely at me, and then, swinging his foot as his leg hong over the table, be half smiling said: “ I want to tell you something.” Feeling roused at his disturbed demeanor I asked what was the matter ? “I am ruined!” said he, ‘‘rainedpolitically, religiously and every other way,” and he, with a quick movement, started up and down the room wringing his hands and wiping the profuse perspiration from his face. I said: “Turner, yon scare me.; what in the world is the matter?” He then took from his pocket an envelope, and from the envelope a paper and handed it to me. It was a subpcena to appear in Atlanta the next day as a witness in the case of the United States vs. Marian Harris. After I had finished reading it, he gave me another paper from the same envelope; it was a letter from L. J. Gartrell and W. H. Hulsey, of Atlanta, and contained the information that Marian Harris had been arrested, and had made a confidential confession to them as Attorneys, and they advised him that it would be to bis interest to see them without delay.— This letter was written on a half sheet of letteruntil a rvrintnfl Viaar? and in tliA ViPfif rf
