“The History and Descendants of the Greer, Martin, and Related Families of Claiborne and Hinds Counties in Mississippi” was a quick sell-out! In response to the numerous requests, a second printing is planned. This hard bound book, published by Family History Publishers in Bountiful, Utah, is 435 pages, contains maps, 129 photos, a surname index and is printed on acid free paper. Primary families covered are Greer, Martin, Boren, Bloyd, Coutch, Courley, McClure, Par ham, and Wallace. Many other families in the area are men tioned. There is also an interest ing chapter about the Southale Country. The cost is $45 and books will be shipped to arrive in time for Christmas giving. Edwin McKay, 316 North wood Dr., Philadelphia, MS 39350, seeks information on the family of Dr. William Robert Lightfoot born in 1809 in Georgia. Dr. Lightfoot practiced in Holmes and Carroll counties in Mis sissippi. Dr. William Robert Lightfoot and his wife Annie El izabeth Perry, born in 1811 in Georgia, had the following issue: Louisa Winford born April 26, 1884, in Georgia, married Be njamin Wickham Moore Dec. 20, 1859; Phillip born 1836 in Mis sissippi; Annie Elizabeth born June 13, 1840 in Mississippi mar ried John T. Crawford; Sarah Frances born March 15, 1845 in Mississippi married James A. Gray Jan. 1, 1867; Benjamin born 1847 in Mississippi and Susan Cornelia born Oct. 28, 1850 in Mississippi. Annie apparently died and Dr. Lightfoot married Mary Anne Weatherford and mo ved to Blackhawk, Carroll County, MS. Masonic records say he died in 1892. — Ken Ellzy, P.O. Box 382, Mendenhall, MS 39114, is search ing for information about father’s family. Albert Ellzy (1903-1968) said that two Ellzy men came from overseas and arrived at the Port of Vicksburg. From there, one of the men settled in Jones County and the other in south west Mississippi around Tyler town. A James Ellzy purchased land in 1836 in Rankin County and another family member, John E. Ellzy fought in the Confederate Army. Russell Ellzey was an un successful Democratic candidate for the 7th Congressional seat in 1934. Needs to know where these Ellzys originated. in Marie Haven Carlton, P. O. Box 300, Arkabutla, MS 38602, would like to correspond with descendants of Levi Hood first found in Yalobusha County, Miss., in 1836 and Panola County in 1840. Apparently died before 1850 as his wife Sarah was listed as head of household in 1850 census on Panola County. Children were: William, born 1832; Thomas, born 1837; John, born 1840; Elizabeth A, born 1841; Margaret, born 1843; Henry A, born 1845 mar ried Nancy Jenny Snell; Sarah G., born 1847 and Levi, born 1849. Where and when were Levi and Sarah born? Who were their parents? Any information on this family will be appreciated. — June Carney Pollard, 839 Battery Lane, Nashville, TN 37220 is searching for descen dants of Sarah Blackburney, born 1802 in Maury County, Tenn., wife of Methodist minister Rev. Joshua Fly. Moved to Water Valley, Miss., in 1834. Sarah died in 1862 and her husband in 1875 in Water Valley. Especially want data on Sarah’s mother Lucy Carney Blackburn.
