July 25. —One of the largest shipments of live alligators ever made from New Orleans or this section of the country was made this evening when the firm of Wm. E. Voelkel Son, wholesale raw fur dealers, sent out over the Southern Pacific two carloads aggregating in number more than five hundred saurians. The shipment goes to a California alligator farm at Los Angeles. The 4 ‘gators’ ’ measured in length from a few inches to more than fifteen feet, and in age from one to three hundred years. One of the “gators” is said to be the largest in captivity, measuring close to sixteen feet.__Be a Booster All the Time.We owe it to the community
