Special to The Herald. ALAMITOS BAY, July 28.—The largest crowd of people ever at this place came today in Pacific Electric cars, in automobiles, in car riages and on bicyclees. The swimming races for the championship of the state and the annual picnic of the order of Eagles were the principal attractions which drew the thousands of visitors which swarmed on both the bay plier and the ocean pier. The big dredger of the West Naplese com pany is now making the turn into the north water way.
