5.3 L5 Taken from DruggiotTOucliraore’s Safe.Early on Thursday morning the safe in the drag store of W. F. Muchmore, at East-Hainpton, was olown open by professional bargfars, who secured $315 in cash. The druggist was aroused by the noise of tha explosion, and made an investigation. Ascertaining what had taken place, he g*vo an alarm, and, accompanied by a posse of neighbors on hor=eback aud in vehicles, started in pursuit of the burglars. Fresh footprints in front of the store and newwagon tracks in the rain-washed roadway gave a clue. The tracks Jed west, and were lollowed as far as Southampton —a distance of nine miles. They ended at W. R. Havens Co.’s livery stable, in Southampton.The posse aroused Mr. Havens and itwas quickly learned that a team andwagon had been hired the night before by Robert and Andrew Patchcl, brothers Thev had hired the team to go to Sag Harbor and did not return much ahead of the searching party.The pose then called upon Justice Howell and secured a warrant for the Patchel brothers. They were promptly arrested, and when arraigned before the Justice said they had driven to Sag Rar bor to visit some temalo friends. They emphatically denied any knowledge of the sate robbery and were seemingly surprised when informed of the cause of their arrest.Justice Howell held them in $500 bonds each for examination on Friday morning. Rail was furnished and they were released
