CARLISLE NEWS ITEMSOF THE PAST WEEKThe Baptist Lymen made some good talks here Sunday afternoon, The Carlisle singing class met Fri-i day night, with the intention of prac-' ticing and after singing a while had, a community ice cream supper. The! candidates found it.out-and instead of singing they took up our time, speaking.for which the people very much regretted.Mr. Mooirei not being abl,e to work his crop on account of his‘ wife being in the sanitarium, was helped out last week by a number of the farmers. The ones that run cultivators were; Messrs Harlan . Smart, Strickland, Bush, Jones, Hembree, Rollins, Sterling Jerden, Stone, Buriy Goodpasture, Witt and Matt Moore and Will Price. The hoe hands were Messrs Carl Ray, Orval Burroughs, Harris, W. L„ Altman, Ralph Kirk, Clifford, Crcg, and Cecil Bond; Bert Harris, Willes Stone, Judson Spencer, Tom Hammer, W. M. Pevehouse. The ladies who served dinner were Mesdames C. H. Jer-den, W. Ij, Altman, Judson Spencer, Will Moore and Clara Moore,Mrs. J. E. Hinson visited Mrs. C. H. Jerden Friday. /Miss Bennie and Mr, Creg Bond! were callers in the Heffington.Mr. Oscar Altman and wife of Woodrow visited in the W. L. Altman! home Friday and Saturday.Mr. Max Browtee spent Saturday night with Mr. Sterling Jerden.Mr. Carl Ray spent Saturday night Vvith Mr. Lora ine Hinson,Mr. and Mrs. Price spent Sunday! with Mr. and Mrs. Judson Spence.Mr. and Mrs. Jerden and sons and; Mrs. Taylor spent Sunday afternoon] in the Brownlee home. IMisses Opal Burroughs, Ted and! Bess Sims and Thelma Hinson and1 Messrs Tonnie and Lester Sims, Or-1 val Burroughs, . Travis Tubbs and Mr. I and Mrs. I. Tubbs and Mr. and Mrs.!
