Will Holt, Art Singer And Minstrel, Sings for Students and FacultyCreator of a new idea in presentation of folk material and art songs is Will Holt, a New Englander, who appeared in concert at campus convocation, Thursday morning, July 21.Using his guitar and calling on folkmaterial, iieder, and art songs, the singer created a program using modern art songs, the Elizabethan music of John Howland, the work songs of the south, calypso songs from Jamaica, railroad songs, sea chanteys, and an aria from Mozart.Will Holt became interested in music when he was six years old. As a student at Exeter. New Hampshire, he grew to enjoy folk songs.
