{Special to The Bentinel) LAKEPORT, WN. H., July 26—1 Today, on the Iste anniversary off the Society's Alvord Wildlife Sanct uary, located on Bear Island, Lake, Winnipesaukee, N. H., one of the largest Islands in the lake where wildlife are seen is their natural habitat. Dr. Eric 4. Hansen, Presi dent of the Mass. SPCA and the Angell Memorial Hospital, stated,, “We feel the results of our lat} year's activities. in conducting any, educational program. in wildlife, conservation have been most grat ifying. Teachers, camp councilors, |, and many private groups and inn dividuals who are students of na ture have come to us from all over| the country to learn more about conservation education and what|. it really means. This Wildlife , Sanctuary, with an educational!) program, the first of its kind in the country, is bringing the phil osophy of conservation to these interested people.” Dr. Hansen stated further. “The objective of the course is to as sist the student to develop skills, observation, evaluation and ap preciation of natural resources, and to encourage each student,' whether he or she be a camp councilor, teacher or an ordinary citizen, to develop a personal phil osophy of conservation and to In corporate that philosophy into his or her concept of life.’ We are en couraging humane attitude to wards all living things ao a deep er appreciation of their’ impor tance to Inman, welfare, especiall y the complex interrelatedness of all plants’ and animals.’ . “Blymouth - Teachers ’College, recognizing the value of our pro pane, has seen Fit to give col lege credits to any individuals who seek to further their educa ion.” 7 B Visitors: are always welcome -to see the facilities of the Sanctuary.
