Sunday, August 6, Is Date of Event Members of the South Central Naborhood club will hold its third annual picnic Sunday, August 6, at Saurbier’s farm, 135th st. and Cen tral ave. Between 1,500 and 2,000 persons are expected to attend the picnic and participate in the program which will begin at 11 o’clock in the morn ing with a softball game between two teams of boys, 8 to 12 years old. Teams of girls, 8 to 12 years old, will play a game at 12:30 p.m. and at 1:30 pm. the Raab Juniors will meet the Olander Florists. At 2:30 p.m. the Raab Tailors will be paired against the Kenny Rand Ten Pins managed by Lefty McConnell, who is reported to be the only girl manager in major softball competition in Chicago. Both of these teams are contenders for the city champion ship. There will be no game at the South Central laborhood field, 79th and Statests. on the date of the picnic.
