Series Of Gatherings Of Delaware Methodist Episcopalians And Methodist Protestants. [Special Dispatch to the Baltimore Sun.] WILempton, Dec., July 25.—With the opening of the ten days’ camp at Vine’s Neck, in Sussex county, near Dagsboro’, the camp-meeting season may be said to have fairly begun on the peninsula, and for the next month the attention of both branches of Methodists will be directed to ward these annual gatherings in the Woods. The Vine's Neck meeting is under Meth odist Protestant auspices, Millville circuit being in charge. The preachers who will be there are Revs. J. H. S. Ewell, Clayton L. Buch, A. A. Birchell, George E. Brown, A. W. Betts and J. W. McLain Brown. Chilton's camp meeting, on the Caroling circuit, another Methodist Protestant gathering, will begin on July 26 and con tinue until August 7. T. H. Jarman, of Greensboro’, Md., will have charge of the music, and among the preachers who will attend are Revs. A. D. Melvin, J. F. Wooden, J. H. 8. Ewell, Louis Randall, D. W. Austine, W. R. Graham and T. R. Crouse. Bethel camp-meeting, near Gumboro’, will begin on July 30, in charge of Rev. G. W. Bowman and Rev. E. F. Mann, of Pennington Seminary, N. J., will assist. Rev. Mr. Bowman will also have charge of the camp in Carey's woods, which be gins under Methodist Episcopal auspices on August 13. Many preachers will assist, including Revs. W. 8. Collins, H. G. Bud, W. J. Dubadaway, W. H. Kenney, T. Martindale, J. D. Rigg and W. H. Betts. The Camden (Kent county) camp is the largest one in Delaware, and it will open next Wednesday, with Rev. D. F. Shep pard, pastor of the church in Camden, in charge. This camp may continue two weeks. August 4 will be observed as Tem perance Day, when the sermon will be preached by Rev. C. A. Hill, of Smyrna, recently of Easton, Md. A host of preach ers, including the leaders of the confer ence, are expected to take part, among them, Revs. J. D. Kemp, I. G. Fosnacht, F. C. McSorley, Presiding Elders Baker and Cochran, former Congressman J. S. Willis, former Presiding Elder Barrett, former Presiding Elder Terry, J. D. C. Hanna, of Union Church, Wilmington, and T. A. H. O'Brien. The largest meeting in Sussex county will be that at Sand Hill, where Rev. J. T. Van Burkalow will be preacher in charge. The camp will last from July 31 to August 7. Evangelist George B. Ren shaw, of Thorndale, Pa., will be there dur ing the entire camp. Preachers who will assist include Revs. L. E. Barett, A. Sten gle, P. H. Rawlins, J. D. Reese, Eben Welsh and A. D. Davis. The Fenwick Island meeting, under Methodist Protestants, will begin on Au gust 6 and continue ten days, with Rev. J. M. Brown, of Millville, in charge. The Brandywine Summit gathering, the largest in this vicinity, will be formally opened on Thursday, with Rev. W. L. 8. Murray, of St. Paul's Church, this city, in charge. Adams, August 6. fif teen days. A Milwaukee Millionaire Dead. BATTLE CREEK, MicaH., July 25.—W. P. Merrill, a Milwaukee millionaire and one of the oldest residents of that city, died here today of heart disease while on a visit to his son, D. L. Merrill. He was eighty-two years of age.
