SILVER CITY.Last Friday II. 0. Watkins was in town on legal business.P.P.Kelley, of Glonwood, and J. P. Grove, of Malvern, liad business in Squire Huffaker’s court.On last Tuesday a case for damages, Rowe vs Rook, was tried before Squire Wing, of Anderson township. This case has been on hand for several days; went through two changes of venue and a jury trial. The jury was oul all night aud brought in a verdict of ten dollars for the plaintiff. Twenty-five witnesses were examined.Hay harvest is about over.The basket meeting at Allison’s grove was well attended. John Bratton preached in the forenoon, Rev Rawls, of Malvern, in the afternoon. The audience were thankful to Mr Mandigo for furnishing good ice water.A new millinery, and dress making firm is seeking the patronage of the ladies. Miss Kittie Elliott and Mrs Roll have rented rooms at the Brookhauser house. We bespeak for them a good trade.
