At Tuoma, a small city of Peru, situated between the cast and west ranges of the Andes, Mr. tl. divided his party, and directed his comj union,-Lardner Gibbon, with a guide and servant, to proceed to Cuzco, and, penetrating eastward from that city, endeavor to* striKe the headwaters of tin? “Purus,which is supposed to be navigable to that point.
