SAN DIEGO CRIMES FORCE LABOR UNITYSan Diego, Cal., July 16.—At present condl-! tiona are looking much more favorible to the! I. W. W. aide of the free apeech controveray.1The trial of E. E. Kirk for perjury In connection with regiatratlon waa concluded laatiweek, the Jury bringing in a verdict of not,»guilty. Thia caae waa proaecuted on a flimsy; charge for no other reason than that of Kirk being an attorney for the free apeech advocates. The favorable way in which this verdict waa received would indicate the great change in public opinion during the past few months. Sunday, July 14, the Free 8peech Leagueheld a meeting on 8ixth and E streets. The►vigilantes were out in force but did not attempt any rash act. Their antics showed them to he adepts at the easy task of mfcking fools of themselves, and many of their former supported were disgusted. The most prominent Idiots were Moore and Porter of the vigilantes, the latter of whom is to be tried for insanityAfter the speaker, l«ewts, concluded bis meeting the crowd adjourned to. 7th and B streets, where Executive Board Member George 8peed addressed them.This week marks the trial of the conspiracy cases, which. It Is predicted, will take about a month. The following members of the 1. W. W. are concerned: H. B. Kiser, Pat Noonan,Chas. Grant, Robert Gosden, W.F. Hubbard, H. Edelman, 8am 8!lver, Jack Whyte, Mrs. Laura Payne Emerson. The socialist Party members charged with- conspiracy are Kasper Bauer, E. E. Kirk, G. W.
