An important / meeting of the city council was held on Monday evening/»■»i • •With ; Mayor Naden in the chair and Aid. Caullield Kirkwood, Smailes, Banner man, Sway ne and JRoss present. A bylaw was passed to raise by the way of debentures the sum. of $5,000 for school buiLding purposes. Last . session the legislature voted $8,000 for a school building in Greenwood.‘^This 'sum is being augmented by the city by the $5,000 as a site has to be purchased.
