A slight difference of opinion between Manager Kripp of the Gilt Edge and Manager Campbell of the Stockton baseball teams before yesterday's game ended in an effort at settlement a la Fitzsimmons and Corbett. Manager Campbell had looked too long on the bowl that cheers, and with the idea that it was intended to give him the short end of the gate receipts, demanded of Kripp that one Stockton and one Gilt Edge man be placed on the gate. To that proposal Kripp demurred, but told Campbell he had no objection to his stationing a man to count the tick ets as they were taken up. Thereupon Campbell became abusive and invited Kripp to fight. Kripp at first declined, but when Campbell in sisted, he led off with a hard jolt in the eye which painted that object a beautiful blue.
