London, July 24.—The Timessays: Wc believe that the number of Lords who Mill vote for the conpcnsation bill will be curiously small. At least a third of the habitual supporters of the government in the House ol Lords will abstain from voting.LOST IN THE SEA.Humanity and Lucre gone to the Bottom—The Former of no Account, but a Lively Search for the Latter. On Friday afternoon our popular and enterprising ship builder, Col. Enoch Moore, Jr., at his ship yards on the Christiana, put into the dry-dock, for sundry repairs, ihc schooner Helen Leeds. This statement, in itself, is not very interesting, but thereby hangs a talc, as follows:In 1776 an English war vessel, name unmentioned, came gailcy sailing into the Delaware Breakwater, on a mission of mercy —she was laden with money to pay the English troops. But the money was never received by the valient rcd-coats of King George, for a spruce young English Earl, who commanded the vessel, countermandedthe orders of the pilot—thinking, of course, re than the pilot did—1that he knew more than the pilot did—and the consequence was that the vessel ran into a shoal, the crew was drowned and, worse than all, the money lost. The pilot escaped, and some years afterhe left to his eldest son papers giving anin ofaccurate description of the location of the sunken vessel. The son sold the papers to a New York wrecking company, and the company has undertaken the job of resurrecting the wrecked ducats. The company was engaged in that work all last week, and report states that the hulk of the old vessel has been buoyed, and that the treasure is expected to be secured inside of two weeks. It was while engaged in this work that the Helen Leeds became disabled and halt;*^ turn in for repairs. jto-- «a*eiy uneasy uiuugut a way. -fal1$no
