SPEECH OE IlOtf. C. CASE.a\1Colcrick’s Hall, last evening, was denselycrowded with an audience, assembled for the jpurpose of listening to the remarks of Hon.' fC. Case. 1eThe speech itself contained an outline of j the actions of the house of representatives du-! 1 ring its last session, and Mr. Case portrayed;* some of the scenes, which were so replete with j * matters of the most thrilling import, enacted | ] during that session, in a manner which only an eye-witness, and one personally and actively interested therein could give. His review of * the acts of the session, though necessarily brief was searching, and carried with itthcji conviction that the men sent to that legislative (body as representatives of people opposed to * the corrupt proceedings of an iniquitous admin*! .istration, acted with a full sense of what was due to their constituents. His expose of tlicj disposition which was made of the Homestead J bill by the so-called democracy of the Senate, \ a bill fraught with blessings and benefits to the laboring man, could not fail to carry the , conviction to every honest citizen that the democratic party really regarded the working i men as “mud sills of society,” while the lie-;ipublican party looked upon them as citizens, j co-equal in rights, privileges and power with ; any of the millionaires of the country. Some of the more glaring frauds by which the ad-; ministration sought to hold the power so cor- j ruptly attained were exposed in such a man- i ner as to leave no doubt but that a change wasineeded in the affairs of our country, to avert \ from it impending ruin. It is only to bo regretted that every voter in the county was not present to listen to the remarks. The Lincoln Wide Awrkcs were out, and after the speech escorted Mr. Case to his resi- j deuce. Their procession was well conducted, i and their quiet and orderly manner and bearing elicited much praise from men of all parties.; They turn out again this evening to assist in ! the pole raising at the West end. Those who j have not heretofore been on hand to witness a | procession of this organization should nut fail \ to attend it this evening. They will be fully j repaid for their pains by the sight afforded j them. A llEAKKK. iFort Wayne, July 18, ’GO.•«* •
