Despite “hot, ‘muggy weather, approximately 300 persons turned out yesterday for the Second An nual Kiwanis Benefit, Horse Show at Tisdale’s White Fence Farm, Adams. In one of ‘the largest shows in the ‘area in recent years, accord ing to officials, 72 horses were entered from six states, includ ing Massachusetts, New Hamp shire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut and New York. Two trophies were awarded to the winners in the junior and senior classes of the English tack horsemanship divisions. The McVeigh Challenge Trophy was awarded to Betty Jean Miller of the Misty Hill Stable, Troy, N.Y., riding Misty Blaze. The award was presented by Sherman McVeigh Bywater and was for first place honors in the 14 year and under class. The North Adams Chamber of Commerce Challenge Trophy was awarded to Jill Caster, also of Misty Hill,riding Mystic Master piece to first place in the 14-year and over class. Dr. Donald Yelle, chamber director, made the pre sentation. Kiwanis ‘Scout Troop 42, led by Scouttmaster David L. Gameau, were on duty throughout the all day show acting as ground patrol and operating a first aid station. Ralph Anthony Jr, of Adams as sisted.
