TAMPA ARCHITECT BEGINS FIVE HOMES IN EDGEWOOI) PLANS LARGE OFFICEMarked impetus in building operations in Venice is noted this week, announcements of new projects begun or about |to be begun in the several residential sections as well as in the business section having created new records for this rapidly growing resort city.M. M. Gleichman, of Tampa, it is announced, has started construction work on five new homes for the Edge-wood section, the sites for the moderate-priced residences of Venice. Mr. Gleichman is an architecture of of high standing in the famous West Coast metropolis and his entrance into the building field in Venice augurs much for the possibilities manifested here.The five homes to be erected for Mr. Gleichman are to be of the smaller type, designed to afford all the comforts and conveniences of more pretentious mansions. The architecture of these j residences is to be in keeping with the j general Venice plans, as are all buildings which meet the approval of the Venice supervising architects.At the same time announcement was made of Mr. Gleichman’s plans for the erection of these Edgewood homes, it was stated that he is now rushing plans for a large office and apartment building for Venice to be started soon. Details have not been divuldged, either as to the size of this proposed structure or as to its location.During the past week continued progress has been made on the finishingtouches for the Boissevain business block being erected at the corner of Venice Boulevard and Nokomis Avenue, which is to be ready for occupancy about August 1, while much work has been advanced on the Green block of stores, also facing Venice Boulevard, only a short distance away from the Boissevain block. The store of Berger’s Inc., on Venice Avenue, is reported as now being completed. A men’s, furnishiings business is to occupy this structure, it is stated.11i
