Coal Mine which is located 011 the George Phillippe, Jr. farm.Mr. Alton, who is foreman of the night shift, was preparing to go to the4‘bottom”, a distance of about thirty ! feet. He stepped into the tub which I lowered th men to the “bottom”, with I twenty-four sticks of dynamite, capped, i in his arms- The rope holding the tub was not securely fastened and the tub and its contents dropped to the bottom of t eshaft.A deep gash was cut in Mr. Alton’s ; head, just below the base of the brain and he was immediately taken to Dr. Dee’soffice where the doctor dressed the wound.; He was taken to the hospital at Yin-| cennes.! He has never regained consciousnes since the accident and the physicions i have 110 hopes at present of his recovery.Miss Gladvs Gilmore snent the week
