CHATHAM ATTHE SEASHOREBusiness Men Take Day Off and Go With Families to Asbury ParkEVERYTHING WAS LOVELYOnce more Chfftham took a day off on Wednesday. The business places were closed up with one or two exceptions. and the owners spent the day with their families at Asbury Park. The occasion was the union Sunday school excursion to that resort on the Atlantic coast, the trip being made by trolley to Summit and thence by way of the Rahway Valley and Central railroads to Asbury Park and Ocean Grove.Excellent trolley service was maintained and the five hundred odd passengers were all landed at the Rahway Valley station in ample time for the train, which started promptly on time. The trip to the park was made in good time, the passengers being delivered about half past ten.Of course a grand rush was made for the beach, where bathing was the chief attraction. The other attractions of the resort were all liberally patronized*The return trip was commenced at ■lx o’clock. Summit being reached about nine o’clock. The delay in returning was caused by the inadequate facilities of the Rahway Valley railroad to handle so large a crowd.Rut the crowd was in a jolly mood and no one really minded the delay after all. It was all part of the day’s outing. The weather was ideal. A bright sun shone all day. but its ravs were j tempered by a strong southwest wind which came off the ocean. A little r^Wf teTT^fter the party was safely entrained for the home trip, but that did not count. There was not the slightest sem1 blance of an accident to mar the day.The Sunday school children all had a grand time, and are eagerly looking forward to the next one—which*is twelve months off,-
