Charles P. Aldrich, proprietor of the Elm House, is making many improve ments at the hotel. Several of the rooms are being re-papered, newly car peted and thoroughly renovated. Twelve new iron beds have been placed in the rooms. The office has also been painted. Mr. Aldrich has laid out 3400 already and by the time his improvements are completed $500 will have been expended. The new range, which was placed in the kitchen, Saturday, got out of work ing order Sunday; on account of the breaking of the water back and the din ner hour was delayed. This has been fixed and the range is now doing. .excel lent service. —
