Lurvey, which occurred nt Ms home Sunday morning, July 14, after acveral week*' , painful illness, the town loses a highly om teemed citizen whose upright character and Maunch principles commanded respect from all who kuew him.The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at t he schoolhousc, Rev. F. W. Brooks officiating. A delegation from Tremont lodge, F. and A. M., of which; deceased wan a member, took part In the i service. Beautiful floral pieces from Jephtha chxpt»i, O E. S., and from friends and relatives, testified their ; regard.Capt. Lurvey was seventy-one years ol age, a Veterau of the Civil war, serving his country on the U. S. S. “Gen. McDonough”. For several years he held the office of quartermaster iu James M. Parker post Cl. A. R.He wss the eldntt arm of Jacob and lie-becca Lurvey, and married In early life Mary Ann, the daughter of Isaac and Abigail Lurvey, who died in 1VSU3. Taro sons had also passed to the better life, one, Charles, in his boyhood, and one, Arthur, hi bis early manhood’ after marriage. 1 Three daughters, Kldora lliggfns, Agues• lhiaoey and Elvte 1-urvey, cheered the father’* declining year*.
