All was operating with great success, and work was Wing executed with wondcaful dispatch when on Tuesday afternoon la^t all was brought to a sudden and disastrous termination by reason of the burning of the buildings connected with the furnace andfoundry.It seems that by some unaccountable accident a ladfe containing about sixteen hundred jt-un«i- of melted iron, which the fcundryaaen were about to pour into a n ould, for the purpose of making some of the large castings for the new mill, was upset, and the liquid iron coming in im-* mediate contact with the sides of the wooden building, set them on fire instantly . The entire foundry building wa* in flames, in a moment, and the Ere communicating to the bridge and wheel house attached to the furnace, all the buildings w*re in a few moments reduced to ashes When the metal left the ladle it instantly spread over the floor of the building, and in its swift course, seriously burned two of the employes. Mr. Butler is most severely injured. li« has two painful burns on his right side, and both of his feet are sadly injured, particularly the left foot, the sboecfwhch was filled with melted iron. Mr. McCartney, the feundrymsa, also received some sever© burns Both men are suffering much, but under the care of lr. L R.
