All Brown relatives Kathlyn Brown residence, are encouraged to attend.Mary Catherine VanderpluymMary Catherine Canny Vanderpluym was born on March 31, 1916 to William and Mary Catherine (Kit) Hatinon Canny in Grant Township of Ringgold County, Iowa. She departed this life July 15, 1997 at the Ringgold County Hospital, Mount Ayr, Iowa.Mary resided on the family farm in Ringgold County her whole life. Site attended rural school and Benton High Schpol. She was united in marriage to Paul Vanderpluym of Diagonal, Iowa on December 26, 1940 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maloy, Iowa.Two daughters, Willctta Catherine and Susan Yvonne were born to this union.Mary enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and making comforters for family members. As she was only two years old when her father died, she grew up working on the farm and dping 'much of the housework.Mary and Paul farmed and rrt’ised^thcir daughters in rural Diagonal.Ljpft to survive Mary areher u«wgiitersr,w^V4lletta .andhusband Jim George of ruralDiagonal and Susan Kinney of Mount Ayr, five grandchildren, RaNa and husband Bob Bailey, Pat George, Shawn and husband Marty Cameron, Colby Homes and wife Tricia all of rural Diagonal and Rcnante Kinney of Mount Ayr, six great grandchildren, Ryan and Chad Bailey, Levi, Taylor and Bailey Jo Cameron and Katelyn Mary Holmes as well as cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Madclaine, her brother Thomas, and husband Paul.Funeral services were held July 17, 1997 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maloy, Iowa with the Rev. Thomas Dooley officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Judy Newton. Caskctbearers were Pat George, Ron Mobley, Greg Mobley, Jim Morris, Glee Mobley, Wyatt Mobley. Honorary pallbearers were Burl Mobley, Don Burch, Cecil Smith, Paul Hannon, Wallace Sobotka, Ted Ricker, Jr.Interment was in the St.►Mary’s Cemetery at Maloy, Iowa. Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of the funeralarrangements.
