CAMPS ON STATE FORESTS FREETO ALL VISITORS-rPHarrisburg, Today. lt;/P)—‘With vacation days here and Penn’s 'Ways carrying an endless stream of tourists Into Penn’s Woods, officials of the State Department of Forests and Waters to-day announced that the camps, parks and other recreational facilities in the State Forests are fully prepared to receive the growing army of tourists who turn to the scenic grandeur of Pennsylvania for rest and enjoyment.Thirty-eight public camp grounds on the State Forests are maintained by the Department for the convenience of tourists and other forest travelers. These camps are equipped with tables and benches, fire places and pure drinking water, ample parking and tent space, and uther conveniences for the comfort of visitors. All of them are located on primary roads of travel and are attractively situated amidst beautiful forest surroundings, Many of them have historic associations.The use of public camp sites, in-cludlngNfuelwood already cut, la free. Camps may be occupied for two consecutive days, and if a longer stay is desired, other camping accommodations adjacent to the camp service centers are readily secured upon application to local forest officers.A list of public camps by counties is given below. These camping centers are described in detail, with directions for reaching them, in the recreational guide In Penn's Wdods” which may be secured by addressing the Department offices at Harrisburg.
