HARD AT WORK ON SAUERKRAUT PLANTFrank. Company Rushing Proceedings, hut Weed .More Men—There Will be Forty Vats, Each Holding Three Carloads —Fifty to Sixty Men to be Hired.UC;O'Work on the new sauerkraut factory being constructed at FranksviLle, by the Frank'.Pure Food Company, of Milwaukee, is beipg rapidly pushed to completion. Ml ’of the,concrete walls are nearly in and ten! or .twelve carpenters are at work and twenty more Wanted. Schmidt Son of Milwaukee, have been awarded the contract for the work and they have, sub-contracted to the Northern Construction Co. of Milwaukee. .According to: the plans .and specifications the' building is to be 100x300, two dtories .high, of wood, and the engine room of brick. There will be forty vats dor the sauerkraut-and-each vat wi.I hold three car loads of kraut. It is now estimated that the entire improvement, complete, with all of. the extras, will amount to between $3G,ftOO and $40,000.Fifty to he Employed.There Will he employed during the sea-' son from '50 to 60 hands and most of them will be hired from Franlcsville and' the surrounding country. Thi: contract calls for completion of the factory not later than September 16. The company expect to handle between 400 and 500 car loads of cabbage this fall. The cabbage of course is to be grown by the farmers not only in and about Franks-vUlt*. but throughout Racine county. Half of the output has already been contracted for and practically sold.Cabbage Crop Good.-Naturally the people of the village of Franks villa arc feeling good over the establishment of this hig concern in their midst and they are determined to encourage it in every -way. Those who have agreed to furnish a certain amount of cabbage slate that it will be done, all reports to the contrary notwithstanding. Although the conditions for a good cabbage crop were not encouraging early in the season, thftt is passed, and the ciop promises to exceed that of iast year.
