AN OLD FIRM DISSOLVEDWas Established in 1881 and has Been an Important Industry in New Haven,Plant Will Continue Business.The handle factory at the west and of town recently owued by Schnitker and Fischer has played an important part in New Haven’s history for the last twenty years. It was established in 1881 by Schnitker and Bueter and operated under that name for two years when a third partner Jobst Fischer was taken in. The firm was then known as, Schnitker, Bueter and Co., until 1881 when Mr. Bueter retired and the iirm became known as Schnitker and Fischer, under which name it has been known and managed until the dissolution on last Saturday, in which August Sehuitker who has owned an interest since the establishment, bought the share owned by Jobst Fischer and has taken his son Charles as a partner and the firm name will now be Schnitker and Sou.This handle factory tho not an extensive plaut has gained for itself a wide reputation as a producer of first class handles of all kinds. Under the careful management of its owners the goods produced found a ready sale in the market and during the twenty-two years it has been lu operation it has worked up many millions of feet of timber and has furnished imployment to a large number of men.Mr. Jobst Fischer the retiring mem her sold his interest that he might retire from active business and as he has spent many years laboring hard in the business field he will tow live a retired life and rest during his remaining years.tla]Uc;ruclt;
