Melancholy Accident.—On Tuesday mom*log. Mr. James Wilkie, farmer, Cralgnefcban Castle, {•HA Letraahagow, was found by hii brother, Mr. Robert Wilkie, wbo resides on the same farm, lying dead at the foot of the rooks in the bed of the bum, near tfca path commonly called •4 Craig's road, situated within about 120 yards trom Craiguethan Castle. The path-nj is strep, and it is suopo-wd that the deceased had bum seiz d with one of the violent fits of coughing t* wkioh he waB subject, Btmrbled on the stump of a trea dose beside the footpath, and, before he could reoorer btxDself, fallen down over the rooke, a height at least of * about twenty or thirty feet.
