There is a room in the Sane Souei Hotel,at Ballston Spa, sacred now to the lieart orevery American. The apparfcment from which a mighty soul _ hut^ lately tqpk itsflight to the world of spirits ; the scene of Gov. Marcy’s peaceful paesipassing away.—Through the kiriflness of the ^ gentlemanly proprietor, I was allowed to visit this roomproprietor.which has been closed since that mournfulevent. The door was quietly opened as though the unoccupied spot still Jicld connection between the living and the dead, and we entered with a sifeut footstep and mu to lips. There everything tftill remained as the great man left them. His hat stood on the stand untouched since last he placed it there ; his hwte, gaiters and slippers lay upon the floor ; there was the trunk marked W. L. M., just as he left it, the key within the lock ; there was thedvossmg gowu, in it they found him dead ; and even the impression uf the recliningform still remained upon the bed ; all—ev-rything, as though ho had but a moment departed.
