FOR TITF. PEE DEE TIMES.Kingstrf.e, S. C, July 14. 14L'.. * A called meeting of the Williamsburg Kansas Association was held in the Court House at Kmgslrcc on Monday, July 1 llh. The meeting was called to order by Gapt. John A. Salters, Chairman : the Secretary being absent, John Mclnnis Esq, was appointed Secretary pro tan.Dr. D. M. Mason submitted the follow- j ing report from the Executive Cominittco : , The Executive Committee beg leave to roport that since the Inst meeting of the A£ ! sociation they have disbursed the sum of j six hundred dollars to emigrants, also the { sum of twenty five dollars to the indigent i mother of three young men who went out | as emigrants, though not under the immediate auspices of this Association. They i have on hand the sum of forty dollars and j sevonty five cents, besides forty dollars on subscriptions not collected. The Committee would report, that in their opinion the crisis in’Kansas, demanded renewed energy and exertion on the part of this and every other Association in the State. The cry cotncs to us from Kansas for help. They 1 want more men and money. They surely ■ ought to have both, whilst therefore, your Committee feel willing to undergo anyla* 1 borand any denial for the advancement of! our cause and objects, they feel convniced thaUa new organization of the Committee composed of men fresh fiom the people with their armor burnished for the conflict, would do more in obtaining funds and promoting our objects than the piesent one, and under these circumstances and with this view they respectfully present their resignation. On motion of Capt. J. C. Wilson the report was adopted.On motion of Dr. Mason, it was resolved that out of the first funds collected by the Executive Commutes they bo instructed to pay to each of the emigrants sent to Kansas by this Association, the sum of one hundred dollars..and the sum of fifty dollars to each of three young men of the name of Prosser, who left this District for Kansas entirely dependent upon their own resources to get there.The Chairman appointed the following Executive Committee in place of the old one, viz :E. J. Porter, W. R. Brockinton, Peter 0. Fulton. N. W McGill, W. L L*e, A. W. Dozier, T. N. Britton, J. W. Oliver, Dr J W. Graham.On motion of Col. S. J. Montgomery it was resolved, that the proceedings of this meeting be published in the Pee Dse Times and Sumter Watchman.^ho Steeling then adjourned./ J. A. SALTERS,Chairman
