leigh, July 21.—Goldsboro, Fal and Clinton will celebrate the Swing of the “cotton road” with a chorcade, music, speeches and a bar ‘bhecuse August 3, H. R. Cates, of Fai ‘sory said here “yesterday, aN 8, chairman of the finance commmittee and member of the cele bration steering committee, was in Raleigh making arrangements for the day’s programm. The “cotton road is a stretch 14 miles long between Faison and Clin ton. It is an experimental route costing $101,330.58, the first to be built jointly by the state highway an p ublic works commission and the ederal government. The motorcade, headed by Govern or Hoey and Gen. Manus McCloskey, commander of Fort Bragg, will leave Goldaboro at 0:30 a. m., Cates said. The party will make short stops in Mt. Olive and Calypso, and in Faison there will be a half-hour program, with speeches by Carl Goerch, Raleigh publisher, Commissioner of Agricul ture W. Kerr Scott, and Henry Stev ens, of Warsaw, former national commander of the American legion. From Faison the motorcade will travel the new road to Clinton, where there will be a second program from 12:30 to o’clock, with addresses by Governor Hoey and General McClos key. A barbecue in Clinton will end the program.
