It wu pointed out that under the present arrangers o' the Esp -ranee Board has to supervise 90 miles of the Norsemsn-Esperance road, and that it is impossible to do 1 tisfaetory work ■tso great a distance. The Board also suggested that of the £126 remaining in the Dundas Boards hands of the £400 grant for the Esperance road, they expend £too in clearing s new track along the railway survey line.Mr O'Neill said that if the Dundas Board extended their terri'ory south ward.they would be taking in a bad piece of road,Mr Gibson said that if there was a possibility of the Esperance Board making trouble about the piece of road the Dundas Board had spoiled at the Glue Pot, it was just at well to take the bull by the horns and take the road into the Dundas Boards boundary to save tumble.Mr Baird asked if it wss advisable to decide so Important a matter when so few members were present. The Secretary: We hare a quorum and have authority to transact any business.Mr Gibson said that if the boundar lea were shifted ss requested the Esperance Board would still have two miles more of the roadkhan the Dundas Board.Mr Baird: And theirs is Ihe worst portion. There was no prospect of the railway bill passing in the uoper house so the money would be better spent on the present road.Tire Secretary: I know for a fact that the ncses hive been counted and thefeis a majority in favor of the billin the upper house,Mr Biird: I'm very doubtfull. ABill for the Esperance—Salmon Gums portion would go through. I know positively that’l it would have gone through last time, but there was not —and is not—a chance of getting the through line.Mr Gilmore wrote stating that he had recently heard ol a deposit of gravel near the Glue Pot. Ht would short ly search this deposit and if he could find it would send the Board a sample together with an offer to repair the road with it.Mr Baird: I dont think there is Ihe slightest difficulty in getting gravel near the Glue Pot Is there not limestone country at the approach to theThe Secretary: Yes, but it would have to be broken, and breaking is too expensive, we want gravel.Mr Baird: Is there not gravel on the ridge this side of the Glue Pot.The Secretary: Yes. but It is too far to cart it. The cost of carting would be too high.Mr Baird: I think even if it coitly it would be betier to have one mile of good road than 4 miles like Ihe preaent piece. The Secretary: That road is not hopeless yet. I see in the 'Norseman Times' that a man complains that took him 1 hours to get through the Glue Pot; on one occassion in the early days it took me two daysMr Baird: I suggest that we leave the matter of the Glue Pot till we h-ar from Gilmore about the gravel.
