MANSLAUGHTER.■Tames Issepi was charged with the manslaughter of George Henry Timms, on the 31st May, at “ Kooreh,” near St. Arnaud.Prisoner was defended by Mr Fred Hamm, ofBallarat..Jury:—Messrs A. Dann. J. Kelly, J. W. Mapson, R. Penney, G. Kettyle, H. Walters, W. R. Walker, T. M‘Mahon, W. I\ Heron. F. Le*S W. Muirhead, and G. Plumnier.Elizabeth Timms, wife of deceased, gave evidence that on May Slat ahe, with her husland and two little children, went to Iseepi's place, where they met Mr and Mrs Duffy. They had some wine, tea later on, and after that dancing and singing. The men and Mis Duffy had more wine. At U o'clock, when they broke up, the men were pretty well on and Mrs Duffy was merry Witness, having her children to look after, kept sober. Issepi and her husband had a dispute about paying for wine, and she went out and on ahead, expecting her husband to follow her. After a time she heard someonefall against the fence, and found on going hock that it was her husband, who was unconscious., - * — ~Mrs Dufiy said he had had a fall and waa shamming Issepi said her husband was drunk, and asked her into the house to wait awhile. Shortly after her huaband came in shiveringwith oold. At 3.20 a.m. they put her husband on his feet and put him on the road.
