Martha J. RuelBIDDEFORD - Martha J. Ruel. 85. died Thursday at Southridge Rehabilitation Center.She was bom onAug. 22, 1921, in Biddeford,a daughter of Hermance and Maria Houle Neault.She was educated in Biddeford schools.On Oct. 26, 1940, she married Lucien C. Ruel at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.She worked in area shoe shops for more than 40 years, retiring in 1983. In her retirement, she worked part-time forGendron's Variety in Biddeford and the Ocean House in Old Orchard Beach.She enjoyed playing cards and bowling. She loved family gatherings and also had great affection for her cat. Fluffy.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucien, onDec. 17, 1998.She is survived by: Three sons, Robert L. Ruel and his wife, Margo, and Renald C. Ruel and his wife, Rolande, all of Biddeford, and Roger G. Ruel and his wife, Roberta, of Lyman: two daughters, Diane J. Ruel and Priscilla R.Bradley and her husband, Willie, all of Biddeford; her niece and godchild. Rose Marie Boissonneault; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several nieces andnephews.
