M. Gondrlng of Ceres failed to reach an agreement. Tuesday afternoon* in the ca. e of Johnnie Cassio, charged by Mrs, Elisa Fernandes of Ceres with disturbing the peace.It was reported the jury was eight .to four far the acquittal of Tassio,Following the discharge of yesterday’s jury, Judge Gondring continued the case until September 20, when a new trial will be held in the sanie.pla.ee.Before the examination of the witnesses, E. H. Costa, a • laborer, testifiedtion for “peace and quiet in the neighborhood” and that he has “do use for the woman.Vernon Sedore, a laborer who .has worked on Cassio’s ranch, told how Mrs. Fernandes approached him, asked him his wages and then said, That is too dies p.
