Y.1—The Epworth League and Church School Convention of the New York District, Delaware Con ference, Methodist Episcopal Church, was held here Wednesday and Thursday in the Second M. E. Church Tent. The Rev. MM. V. Waters is the pastor, the Rev. MM. A Thompson, district superintendent. The de votionals were led by the superintendent, Dr. M. A. Thompson. A demonstration webe given the Junior League of the Secona ry Church, Mrs. H. M. Waters, teacher, and an Inspirational address by Dr. J. A. T. Foust. The Welcome addresses were delivered by Mrs. H. M. Waters, Rev. Johnson and by Mayor Frederick C. Mc Laughlin. Response by Rev. J. H. Williams Frank Garner Smith, general secretary of the YY. M. C. A., delivered an address. Dr. FP. J. Handy spoke on the subject of the program of religious education. The an nual sermon was preached by the Rev . A. Hiubbard. Visiting ministers were: Dr. T. H. Woodly, district superintendent of the Wilmington District; Dr. W. C. Thompson, district superintendent of the Philadelphia District; the Rev. L. 3. Moore, of Chester, Pa. BROOKLYN, NEW YORK BROOKLYN, N..—Visitors of both races heard the special sermon of the Rev Dr. Henry Hugh Proctor on the “Chief Issue in the Pending Political Campaign.” At the evening services, Rev. Dr. Thomas Potterton gave an address on “The Wan derer,” illustrated by beautiful slides. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Scott motored to Richmond Va. Sunday, to spend a month. There will be no church activities at St Philip's Church for thirty days on ac count of the death of Father Ellezo. The new pastor the Rev Hodge, formerly of In dianapolis, Ind, is on conducting the ser vices at the A. M. E. Zion Church. Mr Packard is now in charge of St. Philips.
