MRS. M. M. ESTES DEAD.Mrs. M. M. Estes died at her \ home on South Union Street. I- June 23, 1927. Although Mrs. I Estes had been in failing healtls for about two years, she was!a confined to her bed only a Iweek. IMellisa M. Reid was born I- Dec. 12, 1849, in Gumming,!0 Ga., and suffered as most South I- ern women did during the Civil I1 War. But with its close war I p married to her husband -Jaspci I r Estes who gave four years of I S service, suffering a gun wound.!They were married May 11.1 % 1865. To this upion were born I ten children, eight of whom I v survive her viz. J. Gordon!- Estes, E. Graves Estes, James! ’ Wesley Estes, Emory J. Estes. I- Mesdames Nannie Boaz and I Garther Ritchey, all of Whiter J- -boro. Fred H. Estes, Pueblo J0 Colo., and W. S., Pampa, Tex-1 { as. With the exception of Mr Il- Fred Estes, who was ill, all I- were at the funeral. IMrs. Estes moved with hei J e husband to Texas in 1899 and!has lived in and near Whites-1 v boro ever since. Is At the age of twenty-six Mia If Estes was converted and joined I{ the Baptist church and has I 5 been a consistent member ever I since. She was a good mother and neighbor, loved by all whcr knew her.s Her husband preceded her to s the better world March 11 y 1912. Besides her children she t is survived by thirty grand-C children and seventeen greatgrandchildren, t Funeral services were con-t ducted at the family residence s Saturday afternoon, at fouro’clock, June 1927, Rev. J. S c Murell of Gainesville, Texas ^ conducted the services.1 Her grandsons were the pall bearers, viz. J. Guy Estes, Wil1 Estes, W. Luther Estes, Ones Estes, Thurman Estes and Chasi Estes.Those attending the funeral t from out of town were: Mr . Will S. Estes. Pampa. Texas Will Estes Jr.. Burkburnett. Guy Estes of Burkburnett.
