Have a Short and Harmonious Meet ing. Council adjourned from the side walk to the chamber at about 7:30 last night and proceeded to business. The minutes were read and approv ed. Mr. Manly Wilson appeared in behalf of the Cotton Mill Company and asked that it not be required to lay a brick pavement around its prop erty. A cinder path much more durable and suitable for their needs than a brick pavement, was already in position. Mr. Wilson cited law which made it illegal to tear a pa d of walk and“put down another, for considerable shying by the Councilmen, the subject of pavements passed in last meeting, was ordered reconsidered so that citizens will not be required to lay pavements except at the express command of the Street Commissioner or the Committee on Public Improvements, Mr. Selig through Tron. Marcus Sulzer, protested against certain fill ings in the Walnut street school house yard, the same changing the course of a sewer and damaging his property. The Committee on Public Improvements were instructed to look into the matter.
